How to Clean Marble Countertops

This was posted by our friends at Houzz.com, and we wanted to pass this along b/c so many people come into our showroom inquiring about Marble Countertops, but ultimately talk themselves out of due to "maintenance issues." Rebekah Zaveloff | KitchenLab "Nothing moves like marble,” says Stephanie Laney, lead designer for Surfaces USA, referring to the impression of movement created by the veining inherent in the carbonate stone. “We love the movement.” What most people don’t love, however, is the concern that comes with cleaning and caring for the popular, porous surface famously susceptible to etching and staining, especially in the kitchen. Luckily, according to marble experts, where there’s a will, there’s a way, and caring for the classic beauty of a marble surface may [...]

QSC – VBEF – Innovative Learning Grant

OK, so this is the last post of the day.  I just thought this was worth mentioning as this email came in as I was posting about Project Redbot.  Our 2nd grant was awarded to Arrowhead Elementary School, and it was called "Pair"fect Pets Promote "Paws"itive Virginia Choice Reading.  Mouthfull huh? This grant was directed towards children who were having trouble reading out loud.  Instead of reading to their classmates, they were "paired" with stuffed animals, to ease the tension of public speaking.  Miss Petty, where was this when I was in 3rd grade? Dear Mr. Pirrone and Mr. Culicerto,   Thank you so much for donating money for our learning grant "Pair"fect Pets Promote "Paws"itive Virginia Choice Reading.  First graders and third graders paired [...]

QSC and VBEF – Project Redbot

You may remember that in November of 2014 Quality Stone Concepts in conjunction with the Virginia Beach Education Foundation underwrote a grant at the TGIF Grant Celebration.  It was called Project Redbot and the funding was directed toward 5th graders.  They were tasked to "create a proposal for an autonomous robot which performs a service."  Students had to include a working prototype to share at the RedBot Expo. Today we were thrilled to receive the following email from their teacher: Good Afternoon, Mr. Pirrone and Mr. Culicerto, Thanks to you, our entire fifth grade has been able to embrace the engineering design process as they worked in collaborative teams to build and code autonomous robots.  Because of your generosity, 125 students are leaving fifth grade and [...]

CALLING ALL REAL ESTATE INVESTORS

Here are two fantastic houses we just assisted one of our best clients with.  Both houses are located on Gee Street in Portsmouth, and Quality Stone Concepts provided Joe M. with all the kitchens and bath (both cabinets and granite).  These houses are priced slightly above $200,000 and have full overlay, plywood kitchen and bath cabinets, granite with under mount bowls and tile back splashes. If you are a real estate investor, and you are not brand new kitchen cabinets with granite countertops in your property, take a look at why your competition is moving houses and you are not. If you are a homeowner who has their house listed and it's not moving either, it might be a time for an upgrade.  REMEMBER KITCHEN [...]
